Dr. Ganapathi Bhat M. is an eminent personality, presently appointed as a Consultant in the Department of Medical Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant since 2006 among the most prestigious Institutes i.e. Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre and Sir H.N Reliance Foundation Hospital Mumbai. His major area of responsibility is Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation where as a core team member of Transplant Unit he has successfully performed more than 400 cases of both Autologous and Allogenic (including MUD &haploidentical) Transplants. Dr. Bhat takes pride of conducting the "world's First Case" of post renal transplant plasmacytoma. He Has also carried out successfully the first case of NHL in a seropositive patient in India. He has vast experience of two decades of treating various solid tumors and hematological malignancies with chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. He is also part of PRRT therapy in treatment of Metastatic neuroendocrine tumor and hormone resistant prostate cancer.
Dr. Bhat is actively involved in various teaching and academic programmes as a renowned faculty for DNB Oncology (super-specialty) and DNB Medical at Mumbai. Currently , he is mentor for MSc and PhD students in applied biology and fellowship in Medical Oncology (under MUHS) for Mumbai University.
Prior to joining Jaslok Hospital, Dr. Bhat was working with one of the most premier centres of Oncology in the Middle East i.e. Kuwait Cancer Control Centre run by ministry of health as a Medical Oncologist in the year 2002. During his professional development, he has been elected as a "Unit Co-Ordinator" for organizing meetings and subsequently served on the faculty at Kuwait University for MRCP-Hematology/Pathology during his tenure at Kuwait Cancer Control Centre. In 2002 Dr.Bhat was associated with Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre Mumbai where he had established first Day Care Unit of Hemato-Oncology Department.
